oh dear

I'm holding an adorable, sleepy, 18 month old, curly-haired, little girl on my lap right now. It's 12:45 and she's not so sure about going to sleep in a strange home. Yep, this toddler's name is not Hope or Halle. Oh dear is right. Especially since her 4 month old brother is asleep in my bedroom.

But it's just for the weekend!

May He give you the strength you need in every situation. These children are so blessed to be wrapped in your loving arms and to feel the "love of Jesus" in their lives... (even if only for a weekend).

I just gotta say that I really LOVE my wife. I love how she just HAS to listen to her heart and prodding from God to do what is right.
She is a natural with these kids. Somehow she just melts right through to their hearts and becomes "mommy" - even if just for a few days as needed. She has a gift and she uses it without hesitation. I admire and respect that.
Sure, a few hours (more than a few actually) of precious sleep were lost. Plans were changed some. But in the end, when approach that Great Throne, will we look back and say "you know, I wish I would have opted for that extra sleep and more prediciable schedule?" Or how about "wish I would have picked a regular job and worked 8-5 while the kids were raised in day care, public school, Television, and after school programs"? No way. Not my girl! Our trusty old surbarban is starting to die, I'm a 'vanpool driver' (the King Country Metro Van is our second car..), and we don't do fancy vacations and such. And yet we have no desire to get addicted to a double income lifestyle that would be so easy to do with her Psychology degree (with honors) and work experience.

...ok, so I'm going off on a tangent. To summarize, I really love her :)
