Lake Wenatchee

yesterday was plain awful
you can say that again!
yesterday was plain awful! but thats. not now. that's then.
remember Annie?

Anyway, it was 93 degrees INSIDE our house on Wednesday!!! uggghhhh.

We went to lake Wenatchee and it was actually cooler in Eastern WA than at home in Western ! On our way home saw a reader board... 106. Wow. I left Tucson to avoid weather like this. But we had a wonderful time at the lake. No pictures just memories in our hearts...

Annah being the only one to swim to the little island.
But all of us loving swimming in the cool water.
Ethan and Ryland trying their hardest (in life jackets).
Toriah saying "I need googles; this is just the coolest place to explore."
Finding a nearly dead fish and getting to hold it.
Swimming to a huge rock with Ry on my back then going back for Ethan.
Sitting along the shore with Hope and Halle saying "wimming" over and over,
thinking their splashing was swimming. Not so great memory...Tennyson spotting another
dog and knocking over the camping chair which was halfway in the water, right on top of
Hope and Halle which was so scary! They still loved the water and had so much fun.
Seeing some friends from Tae Kwon Do. Reveling in God's beautiful creation.
It was was a wonderful day...until we came home to the hot HOT house.
There are worse things though, and we are very blessed.

We do have pictures from last weeks camping trip to the same location though!

the island, you can see the rocks to right

learning made fun

Even in the summer, we are continuing our learning so that we might still take off Fridays during the school year. Anything made into a game makes learning fun. Can you tell by Ry's face he's excited to find the next stack of change? They read the clues and find the money. Easy but great for their reading skills, critical thinking etc. They wrote the amount of change they found on the back of each card and then added them up. Fun!

Happy {belated} 4th of July!

Backyard camp-out! Click to enlarge and see Aidan up at the crack of dawn reading and Tennyson guarding the girls tent (sleeping in front of it).
My 5 beautiful girls. Reminds me... Gotta get that shot gun cleaned...
So much good food! Nothing like water mellon and BBQ on the 4th! And Jan's fruit salad was a huge hit :)

While we were eating, the girls climbed on Tennyson... "run and grab the camera!!"

Thanks Grandpa Rick for providing the fireworks. Here Ed amazes the crowds with 'snakes'.

OK, just had to put another cute shot of the twins and tennyson :)

Easily entertained...

OOOOH, AHHHHHH

I don't know what just happened... But it must have been pretty amazing ;)

Aidan and his pillow (dog) watch the big Fairground fireworks show from our nieghbors yard

Ooooh, shiney
